Renae S. Kruse
Attorney & Counselor at Law
Renae grew up on a farm outside of George Iowa. She was the youngest of six kids. Thus, she indicates that she developed her “arguing skills” at a young age. She is married to Omar and has two stepchildren, Oliviyah and Keisean, ages 10 and 14 respectively.
Omar is originally from Oakland, CA and moved to South Dakota in 2001. He works as a cook at Grand Falls Casino, head referee for SD Junior Football, coach for Tri-State Buffalos and as a private security guard. Both kids are active in school and sports and Omar is busy coaching many of their recreational team sports.
Renae graduated from SDSU with math and political science majors. She then attended and graduated from USD School of Law in 1997. She took the Iowa Bar Exam and practiced in a private law firm, Waagmeester Law Firm, in Rock Rapids Iowa for two years.
In 1998, she passed the South Dakota Bar Exam, and in 2000, Renae started working the Minnehaha County Public Defender's Office. She was employed as an assistant public defender for about 9 years. In January 2010, Renae started working at Globe University as an adjunct professor and the paralegal program chair. She continues to teach at Globe University both on campus and online.
